Rebalance App
Why I built it, what problem it solved for me, and how it works.
For years I kept the portfolio in Excel: I set a target share for each position across the whole portfolio, and used formulas to calculate how much to buy or sell to bring it back into balance. Those shares are diversification: if a sector or a company is allocated a certain percentage, that balance needs to be maintained with every new deposit.
The problem was that a spreadsheet makes it hard to see the portfolio live — the dynamics, the price moves, the picture as a whole. I thought: why not apply my technical skills and build a convenient tool — with live prices and AI on top. That is how Rebalance App was born.
AI in the app plays the role of an analyst, not a manager: it analyzes the portfolio and diversification in light of the latest news in each sector, and explains in plain language what is happening and why — as a recommendation tool, with no guarantees and no promise of a winning strategy. The app itself does not execute trades and does not manage the portfolio — all decisions and all responsibility stay with the user.
Without AI features the app is completely free and open to everyone. Right now I use it myself, along with a few friends — I have not had time to promote it openly yet; perhaps this site will give it a push.
